Steven Van de Broeck is Executive Director Product Stewardship at Cefic.
He leads the Product Stewardship team of Cefic overseeing the implementation and development of EU Chemicals regulations and policies.
Steven joined Cefic in 2015. He has more than 20 years of experience on environmental and chemicals policy. Prior to joining Cefic he was active as consultant and policy advisor at the Belgian chemical association.
Steven holds an MSc in chemical engineering and several post graduates in environmental and safety management.
Neil is an experienced scientist and regulatory expert with over 35 years involvement in the chemical industry. He has worked in various technical and product safety related roles and currently leads on regulatory affairs for BASF in the UK.
He began his career with Allied Colloids, which was subsequently combined into Ciba Specialty Chemicals in 1998, before this organisation was acquired by BASF, the world’s largest chemical company, in 2009.
Since 2007, Neil has been actively involved in REACH compliance projects including registration dossier compilation, SIEF negotiations, data & cost-sharing mechanism construction alongside consortia representation and production site conformity. Currently, he is coordinating BASF’s activities and providing guidance on the development and implementation of corporate processes to ensure UK chemicals legislation compliance across BASF’s expansive portfolio.
Ales Bartl has a broad experience in European Union (EU) product regulatory law, including Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation, the Classification, Labelling, and Packaging (CLP) regulation, Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR), medical devices, electronic products, and general product compliance and product safety. He advises on regulatory compliance of a broad range of products marketed in the EU, including tobacco products, novel products, modern oral nicotine products, and electronic cigarettes, and represents clients before EU and national competent authorities on compliance and enforcement issues, including product withdrawals and recalls.
Ales also represents clients before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Board of Appeal of European Chemicals Agency.
Marko Sušnik is an advisor for chemical law and chemical policies within the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ – Wirtschaftskammer Österreich). He is involved with REACH, CLP, national chemical law, nanotechnologies, biocides, pesticides and fertilizers.
On the European level he works in numerous expert groups related to chemicals. His work is very much focused on the impact of European legislation on SME. In that context he is also advising the European social partner SMEunited, the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, on aspects related to chemical legislation and policy.
From his professional training he is a chemist, specialized on organic chemistry and organic technologies. He finished his chemical education with a PhD in chemical engineering.
